About James Matlock
Our Mission
James Matlock is working for the interests of all Texans. He is dedicated to providing sustainable energy solutions in the oil and gas industry. His mission is to ensure energy security while promoting environmental responsibility.
James is a true leader.
James Matlock proudly represents the sixth generation of Texans. Born in Fort Worth and adopted at birth, he grew up in a small town in East Texas. As a dedicated United States Marine, James was part of the Marine Corps SecurityForces Company, serving his country honorably. After completing his service in 1995, he returned to his roots in East Texas.
James has taken on the role of chaplain for both the VFW and the Texas State Guard, showcasing his commitment to God and his community. In 2005, he embarked on a career in the oil and gas industry. Now, he is running to become your next commissioner for the Railroad Commission of Texas, bringing the values of small-town life to Austin to advocate for your interests.
A former Marine, James is not a politician but has 18 years experience in oil and gas. He is very concerned about infrastructure vulnerability, China, Blackrock, oil, gas, coal, pipelines, water quality, waste, mismanagement and orphan wells.
